Make Your Home “Inspection Friendly”
- qMake sure all interior and exterior light fixtures work. Replace burnt-out bulbs.
- qProvide access to the furnace, water heather, crawlspace, and electrical panel.
- qInstall a new furnace filter.
- qEnsure that windows operate smoothly.
- qReplace all damaged window screens.
- qTighten all doorknobs and tighten or repair all handrails.
- qClear the way to the attic access panel or pull-down, especially in a closet.
- Make sure there is a minimum of one smoke detector per floor.
- qRemove window security screws, or provide keys for window security locks.
- qProvide keys or unlock sheds and out-buildings.
- qAdjust the downward pressure of the automatic garage door opener.
- qGather all documentation on appliances and recent upgrades.
- qLabel outlets that are controlled by a wall switch.
